Tea Time Tuesday

5 Flames

Hello, My Fellow Book Dragons. I hope it is not as hot where you are and that your tea time is more comfortable by far. This heat reminds me of tonight’s Gem. It’s a brilliant Red, the color of romantic roses, the color of Valentine hearts, the color of blood, the color, my Lovely Book Beasties, of Danger. This is Gem Maker D.J. Palmer’s “The New Husband”.

What if you met the Mate of your dreams? Imagine your Mate disappears..one day as you are going about your business, Nestlings at school, you are at work or whatever it is you do to support your family through the day (those Stay At Home Dragons have their claws full, too) and suddenly there is the dreaded “knock”. Two very nice officers telling you that your Mate’s vessel has been found, but not your Mate..and your world goes into a dreadful downward spiral.

You find out that you are now not only Mateless, but penniless. Then you find out that while everyone presumes your Mate is missing, you are sent anonymous pictures that show your Mate with another Dragon! The scoundrel may have run off! This you keep to yourself or perhaps one or two close friends because you have the Nestlings to think of. And so you muddle through….until one day..in Once Upon A Time fashion..

A Knight in Shining Armor appears (Or Lady in Shining Armor) and suddenly you aren’t alone. The Nestlings and you are not so adrift. They are perfect. They know all your favorites. They take care of all the little details. They get it all right. Too good to be true? ….Then you must, must, must read this Tale.

Palmer takes us on an incredible, tightly written journey where once you start, you cannot stop. If you have ever been in a “if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is” relationship..or know someone who has…this is the book for you. If you love suspense that grabs you by the guts and grips you til the end, this is your next Joy Ride.

Until next time, I remain, your humble Book Dragon,

Drakon T. Longwitten
